Ad-hoc taskforce meeting on Structured Dialogue of the YFJ at the UYD

For 14 years in a row, young people from all over the world have met in Mollina, Spain, at the University on Youth and Development.

The University on Youth and Development The University on Youth and Development (UYD) is an activity organised by the North-South Centre (NSC) of the Council of Europe in partnership with the Spanish Government (INJUVE), the European Youth Forum (YFJ), the Spanish Youth Council (CJE), the Latin-American Youth Forum (FLAJ) and other international youth organisations and youth service organisations.

Since its first edition in 2000, the University has taken place once a year, bringing together representatives of youth organisations and youth movements from all over the world who gather in CEULAJ (Euro-Latin-American Youth Centre) to discuss, train and be trained as well as to take political action around the main issues on the global agenda (www.uyd.me). This year the topic of the joint programme was Democratic Citizenship.

Ad-hoc taskforce meeting on Structured Dialogue of the European Youth Forum

The two day meeting of the ad-hoc taskforce took place in Mollina together with the UYD. The taskforce, including five representatives of national youth councils (NYC) and two representatives of international non-governmental youth organisations (INGYO), one of them OBESSU, discussed the ideal future of the Structured Dialogue process. The taskforce spent their time by constructively evaluating the process and working on a roadmap for the Structured Dialogue, as well as Guidelines for follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of the process.

The meeting however does not replace the Structured Dialogue Evaluation Conference, organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Youth Forum. The Conference on Structured Dialogue is a part of the review of the Structured Dialogue process in 2013, initiated by the European Commission to follow-up the Council Resolution on Structured Dialogue adopted by Youth Ministers in November 2012. The Conference aims at improving and further developing the dialogue process.

The Structured Dialogue Conference will be organised in Brussels, from 26th to 27th November 2013 and it will bring together more than 150 participants from all the main actors involved in the Structured Dialogue: National Youth Councils, Ministries in charge of Youth, European Commission, European Youth Forum and representatives of International Non-Governmental Youth Organisations (INGYOs).
