The latest issue of OBESSU magazine There to Share is now available online! This summer issue focuses on Social Inclusion and features various articles about social inclusion as a human right, the OBESSU in the field, national perspectives on how to tackle social exclusion as well as interesting articles on the tools at disposal to school student unions. The magazine has a completely new design and the printed version has been sent to all member organisations together with the other OBESSU publications.

The European Commission’s programme “Comenius Pupil Mobilty” offer school students the opportunity to spend between three and ten months in a school and host family abroad. Through ther participation, young people will enhance their understanding of the diversity of European cultures and languages and will acquire the important skills for their personal development. In 2010 around 700 pupils in 13 European countries are seizing this opportunity and applied for the participation in the programme. 2011 will be the second year of the Comenius Pupil Mobility and for the school year 2011/12 17 countries will be involved.

The Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) published the report “Education at a Glance 2010” which features date on the educational systems in 21 European countries. The main focus of the report is on the investments in education and the need for governments to support world-class quality in education systems to ensure long-term growth.

Today the Light on the Rights Bus Tour has started. From Brussels towards Vilnius, the first event will take place in the Lithuanian capital on the 9th of September. In the Next Event session, you can learn more about the Bus Tour and have a look at the full list of planned activities. The description of the events will be updated as soon as the different activities are clearly defined by the member organisations.

EU2020 targets in Slovakia, Bulgaria and Germany PDF Print E-mail

The EU 2020 education targets to decrease of the drop out rate to 10% and increasing the number of young people with a degree or diploma to at least 40% have been on the discussion table of various countries in the past month. Several countries have discussed their national situation related to the targets and their strategy for the implementation.
