19th Union of Hungarian High-school Students from Romania (Makosz) General Assembly
The Union of Hungarian High-school Students from Romania (Makosz) successfully hosted their 19th General Assembly (GA) between the 14th and 16th of December, in Satu Mare together with the SzameDT. It gathered together 65 delegates from 11 different counties.
The General Assembly began with the opening ceremony, which included speeches from distinguished guests, as well as the Makosz President, Lukács Rajmund, and International Officer, Simon Barbara. The first guest speaker was the City Councilor of Satu Mare, Butka Gergő and then there were also speakers from the organization the Satu Mare Youth Council SZMIT (Őri-Pákay Franciska, President and Balog Tamás Vice President) and A Szatmár Megyei Magyar Diáktanác (SzameDT) (Kádár Petra, President).
After the speeches the member organisations and the board of Makosz presented their annual reports, revised the Basic Regulation and the Organizational Functioning Regulation of Makosz. Before the closing session, the General Assembly elected the new board of the Makosz! They are:
- Lukács Rajmund (President),
- Ladó Tihamér Zsolt (Executive President),
- Olteanu Roberta (Vice-president responsible for judicary questions),
- Fodor László (International Officer),
- Starotchi Norbert (Vice-president responsible for member organizations),
- Berei Dóra (Vice-president responsible for stray counties),
- Tóth Gábriel (Vice-president of Public Relationships),
- Kassay Anna (Vice-president responsible for media)
- Péntek Andrea (Vice-president responsible for The Youth Academy of Active Students).
The General Assembly also elected Gaudi Zsófia and Virginás Tar-Ágnes as the new Consultants and Várady Csongor, Vetési Imola and Török Czirmay Zoltán as the Monitoring Committee.
Another outcome of the General Assembly is a new Working Plan for 2013, which caused some fruitful debate when the representatives of the counties discussed about the upcoming events and about their role in organising them.
The participants left Satu Mare satisfied, since the decisions made at the General Assembly were firmly established, and Makosz is looking forwards to the new challenges of 2013.
