No membership is necessary to participate in AKS Secondary school students as well as students from vocational schools can join the organisation. School students can become involved in the work of the AKS by joining the local groups, who held weekly meeting to discuss on different topics or plan activities.
Being AKS an organisation without membership-principle, the number of members is not as easy to calculate. During 2009 about 25.000 school students took part in the activities of AKS.
AKS supports student councils directly in their schools. AKS fights for a school and society that are free of fear, democratic and where social equality exists.
- Campaigns on school-related issues such as Student’s rights, Democracy in Schools, etc.
- Campaigns on general problems in our society such as Homophobia, Racism or Sexism, because AKS strongly believes that school and society are linked together and affect each other
- Seminars for school students to provide them with information about specific topics as well as technical skills.
