European Parliament Intergroup on the Future of Education and Skills: On April 2nd, OBESSU participated in the online info session co-hosted by EFEE, the Lifelong Learning Platform (LLLP), and Schuman Associates. The session focused on the newly established European Parliament Intergroup on the Future of Education and Skills for a Competitive Europe —a milestone initiative backed by nearly 100 MEPs and over 180 organisations from civil society, education, and industry. The Intergroup aims to break down silos in EU policymaking, ensuring a holistic approach to education and skills development. OBESSU’s involvement strengthens the student voice in this coalition, advocating for more inclusive, equitable, and future-ready education systems across Europe.
Quality Apprenticeships –EAfA Webinar on Fairness and Inclusion: On April 10th, OBESSU joined the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) webinar, “Shaping the Future of Apprenticeships in the EU: Ensuring Quality and Fairness”. The session brought together policymakers, social partners, and stakeholders to discuss how to ensure apprenticeships are both high-quality and fair.
EU Funding – MFF and Erasmus+: In close coordination with several other partners, we have been closely monitoring the discussion around EU funding and the negotiation process about to comence. As part of our advocacy, we and other Civil Society organisations jointly call for an open and rights-based approach in the development of the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) to ensure full support for the fundamental pillars of the EU. Further more, we also engaged with other partenrs, includiing a) ESU’s info session on MFF and Erasmus+ (check their supportive material) and b) the Erasmus+ Coalition meeting adressing updates and next steps.
Building Digital Inclusion: All Digital Weeks 2025 wrapped up on April 11th. The session featured expert debates, best practice showcases, and an awards ceremony celebrating grassroots initiatives in digital access, upskilling, AI, and digital well-being. Find out more, here.
