Call for members of the working group on Quality of Teaching – deadline extended!
OBESSU has opened the call for members of the Working Group on Quality of Teaching. The Working Group will work alongside the OBESSU Board to explore the focus topic of “Quality of Teachers” for 2019. The Working Group will also consist of members from the Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE) and the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE).
Aims and Tasks of the Working Group
As a member of the working group you will contribute to:
- Exploring the cooperation between students and teachers at a all levels
- Researching the current situation of teaching in Europe, with particular regards to teacher evaluation and space for continuous professional development.
- Investigating tools and good practices in teaching quality and cooperation between students and teachers in co-decision and evaluation.
- Contributing to a policy paper on democratic cooperation between students and teachers and their role in shaping quality education
Commitment
The working group will divide its tasks internally, and will mainly communicate online through emails and skype calls. An ability to work both in a team and to take the initiative as an individual is desired. One physical meeting will take place in Brussels in March between 23-26th March (travel days included). The mandate of the working group will last from February to September 2019.
Applicant Profile
- Member of an OBESSU Member, Candidate or Affiliate Organisation
- Passionate about the topic of Quality Teaching and with some experience working with policy.
- Available to attend the kick-off meeting in Brussels on 23-26th March (travel days included)
- Willing to work 1-2 hours per week on average for the working group
- Comfortable working at a professional level in English
