Collaborating with the Child Up project!

From the 9th to the 12th of September, our Board member, Adrian Barbaroș, participated in the first International Stakeholders’ Committee of the Child-Up project. Taking place in Northampton, the United Kingdom, the event reunited NGOs representatives, along with professionals from University of Liege, Malmoe University, University of Modena, Reggio Emilia and many more.

Child-Up project or ”Children Hybrid Integration: Learning Dialogue as a way of Upgrading Policies of Participation” is a project funded within EU 2020 Horizon and coordinated by the International Institute of Humanitarian Law. The project aims to collect data of migrant children living conditions, protection and education in order to provide a European overview. At the same time, the project has the purpose of upgrading policies by offering migrant children the opportunity to participate in processes that will change their own conditions.

During the 4 days event, an important amount of time has been dedicated to the presentation of good practices for the inclusion of children with migrant and refugee backgrounds. One again, Seeds for Integration Programme of OBESSU has been acknowledged as a good example of how school students can make their community more inclusive. 

OBESSU will actively take part in the Child-Up project by supporting the dissemination and communication of outcomes, but also by sharing recommendations for policies in this field.

We are more than happy to work for this project and we are looking forward to the next meetings!
