Consultation on Structured Dialogue
OBESSU is preparing a report for a Structured Dialogue, and we want YOU, the Member and Observer Organisations of OBESSU, to get involved!
In order to do that, we we would like you to answer the consultation on Structured Dialogue. After we gather all consultations, we will do the same by summing them all up and then it will be sent to European Steering Committee. Youth organisations have a vital role to play in the structured dialogue, as they speak on behalf of a great number of young people
Deadline for submitting your answers is 3rd of February. Please, take your time to discuss it within your organisations, you can also create a consultation for your members.
What is Structured Dialogue ?
Structured dialogue is a continuous legitimate process with the consultations/dialogue organised in Member States and across EU by INGYOs, informing the EU Youth Conference at which Joint Conclusions are adopted with the aim of influencing the political decisions at the EU level taken in the Council of the EU.
Those joint conclusions relevant to the theme of youth work will inform the Council Conclusions on quality youth work discussed in the Council of the EU while the joint conclusions on the topic of social inclusion will lead towards the second phase that will be build upon the 1st in order to set the path to the ultimate aim of the third cycle: Council Resolution on social inclusion of young people, at the end of the 18 month dialogue between young people and policy-makers.
Why the dialogue is being referred to as 18 month dialogue?
The Presidency of the Council of the European Union is responsible for the functioning of the Council of the European Union and it rotates between the Member States of the EU every six months.Three successive presidencies, known as presidency trios, cooperate for an 18-month period to provide continuity by sharing common political programmes. Ireland will hold the presidency for the first trio of 2013-2014 (1 January 2013 – 30 June 2013).
