OBESSU Board Statement – International Womens’ Day

On the 8th of March 2026, International Women’s Day, we, as OBESSU, want to reaffirm that gender equality cannot be achieved while the mental health of girls and gender-diverse young people continues to deteriorate. Mental health is not separate from equality: it is deeply shaped by the structures, expectations, and power imbalances that define our societies. OBESSU calls on all European governments and EU institutions to dismantle systemic gender bias and safeguard the well-being of future generations.
