OBESSU Joint Position Paper on School Students’ Mobility in Erasmus+ | Co-created with EEE-YFU, EFIL and ESHA

As OBESSU, together with our partners, we reaffirm that school student mobility is one of the most powerful tools for building a united, intercultural Europe. But it is being quietly dismantled. Since the Comenius Programme was absorbed into Erasmus+, the number of mobile school students dropped by more than half, while funding and accessibility for schools have only worsened. We call on European institutions to dramatically increase investment in pupil mobility, open up partnerships with non-formal education providers, and ensure that international exchange is a real opportunity for every student, not just those lucky enough to attend a school with the capacity to navigate complex EU funding applications.
