OBESSU Position Paper on the Review of the European Framework of Key Competences for Lifelong Learning

As OBESSU, we reaffirm that the European Framework of Key Competences must reflect the full complexity of what it means to learn, grow, and participate in society, not just what can be measured in a PISA test. From digital literacy and civic engagement to cultural awareness, the framework needs to be genuinely updated to meet the realities students face today. OBESSU calls on European institutions and Member States to revise the Key Competences Framework with learners at the table, and to ensure that competences acquired through non-formal education are recognised as as valuable as those gained in the classroom.
