OBESSU Resolution on Italy’s Reform of Technical Education

Italy’s reform of technical education is putting students at risk. From the 2026/27 academic year, schools will be able to reshape their curricula around local business demands, cutting humanities hours, merging STEM subjects, and pushing students into workplaces as young as second year, without adequate preparation on workers’ rights or safety.

OBESSU firmly opposes this reform. Education should broaden students’ futures, not narrow them to fit the local labour market.
