OBESSU Policy Paper on Early School Leaving

Early school leaving is not a personal failure: it is a systemic one. Across Europe, nearly one in ten young people between 18 and 24 leaves education without completing upper secondary school, with poverty, geography, disability, and discrimination among the leading causes. OBESSU calls on all European governments and EU institutions to dismantle the financial, institutional, and social barriers that push students out of education, and to invest in the inclusive, supportive school environments that make staying in school possible for every young person.
