Erasmus in Schools

Erasmus in Schools is an Erasmus+ project, led by ESN France and run in partnership with ESN Spain, EuroApp Mobility and OBESSU and supported by the French Erasmus+ Agency.

The Erasmus in Schools project aims to provide knowledge on the various international mobility schemes available at the time of the interventions, but also enables different audiences to anticipate possible mobility. The aim is to show that a young person can choose to go on a mobility trip regardless of financial, time or geographical problems, provided that they have the right information and are accompanied. It is by allowing the dissemination of this information through inclusive tools that takes into account the diversity of young people that the project will achieve its objectives:

1. To raise awareness regarding European mobility from the age of 14-15
2. To propose adapted tools to inform each young person in secondary school or training centre about the different international mobility schemes
3. To help these students to better undertake international mobility
4. To reduce the social and institutional obstacles at the initial stage of mobility
5. To enable these students to understand the added value of European mobility in their academic and professional curriculum

Informing young people as soon as they enter high school or training/apprenticeship center is essential when it comes to international mobility. In 2017, Erasmus Student Network France flagged that 88% of young people do not feel sufficiently updated about existing mobility programmes. Including students and apprentices from all backgrounds (high school students and apprentices with disabilities, high school students and apprentices from priority urban neighbourhoods) makes sense in ESN France’s work to raise awareness about mobility. The Erasmus in Schools project aims to provide knowledge on the various international mobility schemes available at the time of the interventions, but also enables different audiences to anticipate possible mobility. 

Throughout its duration the consortium worked hard with young people and students from all over Europe to achieve the planned project results: 

• We published a Research on the knowledge and the interest of school students and apprentices regarding international mobility to build our project on solid data and information from its main beneficiaries. 
• We published a Mobility Passport in French and one in Spanish to inform young people about the mobility opportunities available to them, according to their needs. We also published a universal toolkit to be able to create more mobility passports adapted to each country’s context. 
• We published a memento to promote the testimonies of mobility ambassadors about the power of peer-to-peer sessions within schools and training centers, available in English and French. 
• We trained young multipliers and ambassadors and produced an Erasmus in Schools guide to  help mobility ambassadors and peer educators to prepare their Erasmus in Schools intervention and get more people on a mobility experience.
