General Assembly in Vienna: the most important OBESSU meeting of 2014!

From 9th-10th August 2014, about 45 representatives from OBESSU’s Member and Candidate Organisations, and from the Board and the Secretariat, attended OBESSU’s General Assembly 2014, hosted by our Member Organisation AKS in Austria.

The event, held at the University of Vienna, started with an overview of OBESSU’s achievements in the various activity fields which was presented by the Board members, followed by the Secretariat report and Financial report + budget presented by Rasmus Åberg, OBESSU’s Secretary General.

Further sessions during the two days of General Assembly included discussions both in plenary and in ”policy corners”, covering, among other things, the key aspects of the new OBESSU Workplan 2015-2017, amendments to the OBESSU Political Platform and Statutes, and Development Strategy 2015-2019.

The agenda also included, among other issues, the ratification of Union Nationale des élèves et étudiant(e)s du Luxembourg (UNEL) and Česká středoškolská unie (CSU) as new Candidate Organisations of OBESSU, and Board and Monitoring Committee elections. Moreover, the delegates gave the vote of trust to Dejan Bojanić as the OBESSU representative running for the Board of the European Youth Forum.

A big THANK YOU goes to our member organisation  AKS for hosting the meeting, , to the former Board members for their hard work and dedication during the last two years,  and of course to all OBESSU’s Member and Candidate Organisations that contributed to the successful event this General Assembly was.
