Goodbye from Vincent
“Goodbyes are always very emotional. Especially when you leave an organisation full of people you cared about, who occupied an important place in your thoughts, influenced your actions, ups and downs day by day.”
That is what Eszter wrote at the end of 2017 when she left OBESSU, I think itt is a beautiful summary and also describes my situation very well. But while I am sad that my time has come to an end, I am also so endlessly grateful that this has happened to me in the first place, therefore I want to take my last minutes of relevance to say thank you,
To the board, that you’ve trusted me and gave this opportunity to a quirky young school student.
To my great colleagues, who from day one where there to support me. We shared many laughs and WiFi issues and I will never forget our banquets. One day the bards will sing songs about the days we tried fitting into the small office Tetris-style, to the epic war between the dark/light side of the office, till we finally united and tore down the great wall. We experienced many adventures together, from our teambuilding, to almost going to Disneyland, or traveling at 03:00 through Europe. You guys rock and I’m confident that you will keep on rocking even after I am gone.
To the great people I got to meet during APAC and the EYE, all of you were so smart, motivated, dedicated and inspiring. Meeting all of you was the best thing that happened to me in the last 3 months, I am not going home with fading memories, but with a phone filled with contacts of friends from all over Europe.
To the best prep-team, not even the blazing heat of Hlohovec could hold us back. From Kofola to the air-conditioning it was a challenge, but I loved every second of it, anyone wants a Muffin? Thanks to all of you this year’s Summer School is going to be amazing and everyone would be a fool if they would want to miss it.
To the great people that wait for me at home and made it possible for me to be here in the first place (thanks mom).
