KYC fight drugs abuse in high schools
The number of high school student drug abusers in Kosovo is rising. To address this issue, OBESSU’s contact organisation the Kosovar Student Council (KSC) – with the support of the Kosovar Youth Council (KYC) – organised a debate about this topic.
The debate was held on the 25th of April 2012, at the EU Information and Cultural Centre in Kosovo. Present were representatives of all secondary schools of Kosovo, police authorities and young member of Parliament of Kosovo that represent youth voice. Every guest speaker made short presentations of findings of previous researches. They also supported this KSC initiative and agreed to work together for future projects.
This initiative was taken after series of Parliamentary Debates in Kosovo raised for the issues of narcotics within our schools. The Kosovar Student Council is constantly raising awareness on this issue in the public and has informed the Informal Parliamentary Group of Young Members of Parliament about our students’ drug use.
