Türkiye Öğrenci Senatosu (TÖS)

The Turkish Student Senate(TÖS) is the only recognized high school student union in Turkiye. It was founded in 11 July 2018 by Zana Gümüş, Muhammet Yasin Edemen, Orhun Akdağ and other students from all over Turkiye. The Senate represents and defends the rights of students in Turkiye and aims to improve the quality of the Turkish educational system. The Senate has many representatives in Turkiye and it is widely known.

Since its founding, The Senate has organized many events for school students such as workshops, conferences and contests. The Senate also prepared an education report with the help of representatives all over the country and presented it to multiple political parties. The report was an overview of the educational problems in Turkiye and solutions and desires of school students. After that, The Senate became one of the most important youth organizations in the country and started to work with municipalities for bettering educational policies.

As of 2024, the organization has 125 full-year members and is led by a 6 person board, followed by 36 delegates who each represent their municipality, and is being followed by over 10 thousand people on multiple social media platforms.

The Senate is growing day by day and it aims to improve the lives of students in Turkiye, regardless of their gender, religion and ethnicity.
