OBESSU General Assembly coming up!
OBESSU hereby has the pleasure to invite you to the General Assembly of OBESSU that will take place in Estonia on 27th and 28th July 2013 which will be followed by the Summer School “Learn to Change”.
The General Assembly always has an important value since it is the place where Member and Observer Organisations can assess together the work done and discuss how to improve the work of OBESSU. General Assemblies are an occasion for OBESSU to shape its views, actions and plans according to the changes that educational systems face all over Europe as well as the new challenges the school student movement faces today. We hereby invite your organisation to attend the General Assembly 2013!
During this year’s General Assembly a new Monitoring Committee will be elected and we also opened a call for two Board members. We have EXTENDED both calls until 26th July midday (CET) following the statutes. Please find here the extended Call for Monitoring Committee and the extended Call for Board Members.
Timeline for upcoming deadlines
- Tuesday 28th May: invitation to the GA, call for proposals and elected bodies will be sent to MOs.
- Sunday 23rd June: deadline for proposals (amendments, policy papers, resolution from MOs, WGs) These must be sent in writing using the designated form to the GA email address.
Friday 28th June: Received proposals and budget will be sent to MO- Saturday 6th July: deadline for candidates to the Board and Monitoring Committee
- Saturday 13th July: documents of the Board and MC candidates will be sent to MOs
- Wednesday 17th July: 2nd deadline for amendments to the proposals
- Monday 22nd July: last GA email
- Saturday 26th July (midday): extended deadline for candidates to the Board and Monitoring Committee.
Reminder
We also hereby remind you that voting right at the General Assembly will be given only to those organisations that have paid their Annual Financial Contribution 2013. Therefore please get in touch urgently with the secretariat in case of any financial issue of this kind.

Online platform for discussions
Since discussions in plenary before voting on a proposal can sometimes be limiting, we decided to explore additional ways of opening opportunities for a debate in order to reach the most representative policies for school students in Europe. This is why we are also introducing policy corners at the GA where the delegates can discuss the proposals in smaller groups before discussing them in plenary.
