Online platform for Romanian school students
Acces to information has to be an important issue for each generation of the National Students Council and so it is in Romania, where, except social networks and an official website, we communicate with people all over the country through the educational platform called Wedu.ro, open for everyone interested in this field.
Founded in 2010, Wedu aims to provide school students with opportunities to learn how to participate active in the community life, how to communicate the results of their work, how to attract resources, people and institutions, providing opportunities for their ideas. It also was created as a way of developing the structures and mechanisms for the participation of students in democratic organisations such as Romanian National Students Council (RNSC).
News & Events
This section of the platform provides information about all the projects done by the students all over the country and educational organisations, being a guide of good practice for the teenagers who want to make a change in the community. Furthermore, it contains a calendar, where all the important events are announced, due to the fact that, usually, students should complete a form in order to participate at an educational conference or event.
Electronic Magazine – Generation C
Generation C is the platform’s magazine, where everyone interested in the educational field can create content and articles. Everyone who has an idea or an opinion about aspects of daily life is welcomed to express them in writing, in order to be integrated in the magazine. Generation C was founded in December 2011 and right now there are 18 issues published. The magazine’s title comes from the name of our generations, considered to be digital natives and exceptionally tech-savvy, always connected to Internet and technology.
School Students’ Council
This section is vital for the School Students’ Council. At the beginning of every school year, in each school there are elections. Due to the fact that all decisions made in these electoral sessions must be rational and every student has to be informed about how the candidates will get involved in the school life, each participant is obligated to complete a form in “School Students’ Council” section, explaining why he or she should be elected. All this process is made at every type of elections (for the School Council, County Council, Regional Council, different other contests for the available positions). This section also contain all the Press Releases issued, positions of the National School Students Council, motions and public debates. The platform also hosts models of standard forms such as statements, official invitations, reports, the written minutes of an assembly, in order to facilitate the Council’s work.
Wedu is the proper environment for a structure like Romanian National School Students’ Council to convey all the information in a modern way, easy to understand and use by youth and a perfect way for all the educational organisations and people interested in this field to make their work public.
Waterfall Edu was founded by Doru Ștefănescu and is conducted by Romanian National School Students Council in partnership with Social IT. The estimated visits in month May 2014 are 20k.
