On the weeekend 5-6 August we had our annual General Assembly. More details about this event soon, but meanwhile we are happy to introduce two newly elected Board Members. Sara and Rob are joining Larissa, Lasse and Ferre, who started their mandate a year ago.

Let them introduce themselves:

My name is Sara Þöll and I‘m 20 years old. I‘m from this tiny cold island between Greenland and Norway called Iceland.  I recently graduated this past March from secondary school where I focused on natural science. I love cats, my favorite colour is green and I‘m a vegetarian. In my free time I like to read, pet cats and eat ice cream. I‘ve been advocating for the rights of young people since the year 2012. It all started when I sat on the board of my local youth council which later lead met o being on the boar of the youth council of the municipality of Reykjavík. I‘ve been on the board of the Upper Secondary School Union of Iceland SÍF (Samband íslenskra framhaldsskólanema) since 2014. For my first two years I was the Project Coordinator and for the past year I‘ve been the International Officer. I‘ve attended many OBESSU events these past years and I‘m so excited to work for OBESSU for the next two years!

My name is Rob and I am a 21 year old student from Ireland. I completed my second-level studies in 2015 and am currently an undergraduate student of Engineering with Management at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland. My home organisation is ISSU, with whom I worked with on the Board for the past 4 years. I am passionate about student voice and the Irish language, and am looking forward to working with the various topics of education that OBESSU will be working with in the next 2 years. I am particularly looking forward to our upcoming projects on VET and Evaluation of Teachers. In my spare time I like to read, travel, learn languages and socialise with my friends. I am a lover of dogs and my favourite place in the world is Madrid.
