On 10-11th of October, EU education politicians met in Gdańsk, Poland. On the agenda were discussions about important issues for schools and pupils. These discussions are vital input for the EU’s next support programme for education and training. The Commission will present a proposal for it in November.

Questions that were tackled included:

  • How to improve children’s basic skills in reading, maths and science?
  • How to benefit from the diversity in our different education systems?
  • How to guarantee universal access to quality education and care?
  • How to improve language learning at a young age?
  • What role for schools in the EU in the future?
