New Skills for New Jobs: Report adopted by the European Parliament
Approximately 20% of young people in the EU are currently jobless. The European Parliament adopted on 26th October a Report for New Skills for New Jobs. It consists of measures to reach a better matching between young people's skills and the labour market needs. It also aims to bridge the gap between the world of education and of work.

OBESSU @ EUNEC – “New skills for new jobs” Conference in Lisbon
EUNEC (European Network of Education Councils) organized a conference on vocational education with main focus on the labor market and the educational system. The conference took place from October 23th to 26th 2011 in Lisbon. Runar Kjellstad Nygård was representing OBESSU at this conference.

AKS prepares for International Students Day

AKS, OBESSU's Austrian member organisation, is also preparing for the 17th of November. Since it's such an important day to raise awarness for school students rights, AKS plans various actions this year.

“Rete della Conoscenza”, the organisation formed by OBESSU’s Italian member organisation Unione degli Studenti, UdS, together with Link, representing Italian university students and researchers, published a letter-appeal to call for the 17th of November, the International Students’ Day, to be the start of a global student action for real democracy.
