OBESSU General Assembly held in Bucharest on the 21st and 22nd of July voted on welcoming a new member organisation to the OBESSU family. Comité des Elèves Francophones (CEF) - the Belgian French-speaking school student union - joined OBESSU as a full member after a year and a half of candidacy.
Anthony Terroir, CEF's Secretary General says a few words about his organisation:
"CEF was founded in 2009 and since then we strive for achieving our four main objectives: to tackle problems connected with secondary education, to strengthen the role of students in their schools, to be the voice of students and to "open" schools to society.
Just like OBESSU, CEF's decision-making body is the General Assembly and we have an elected Board which leads the organisation.
Every year, we launch a new campaign on a topic related to secondary education. On the top of that, we have four ongoing projects: «Tou·te·s Les Élèves Sont Des Élèves » which means «every student is a student» which is a campaign to make schools more inclusive, a campaign against school bullying, a third campaign on students' well-being in schools and finally we collaborate with the government on an educational reform.
Within OBESSU, we expect developing our network in order to collaborate with other European school student unions and to continue defending school students together and make our organisations more representative."
