As of 6th February 2019, the OBESSU secretariat grew and welcomed a new team member, Daša. She will be our Membership and Capacity Building Officer.
Thanks to becoming a member of a school student council at 14, Daša was introduced to Slovak National School Student Union (SUS) which brought her to OBESSU and if Daša's face seems familiar to you, it is because she was in the Board of OBESSU during 2012-2014.
Between 2014 and now, she got her Masters Degree in European Studies and focused her thesis research on barriers to democratic legitimacy in civil society organisations and worked for the Lifelong Learning Platform of which OBESSU is a member. Having been part of OBESSU in different roles gives her a thorough understanding of the organisation. Her educational and professional background will also be very helpful in her new job as a Membership and Capacity Building Officer. She will implement the Stronger School Student Unions project as well as strenghten the alumni network and Pool of Trainers.
In her free time, Daša likes to listen to way too many podcasts, ideally about true crime or ones in which she can learn random facts (did you know flamingos can drink almost boiling water?) and she likes to talk about food (ideally food she ate or wants to eat) and practice yoga.
