Skip the Barriers of International Mobility
Skip the Barriers of International Mobility (SBIM) is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme. Its main objective is to equip young people from diverse backgrounds with the information and tools they need to engage in international mobility opportunities.
The project stemming from the partnership between ESN France, CID, Connect Your City Brussels, OBESSU, and Youth Express Network, aims to develop strategic tools to supply youth workers providing orientation for young people with the methodologies to raise awareness on international mobility opportunities to a large audience, with a special focus on young people with fewer opportunities. In summary, the project aims at:
- Providing youth workers with adapted tools and skills so that they can provide targeted and relevant awareness-raising interventions about international mobility.
- Improving the quality of youth workers’ interventions by providing adapted and relevant ways of pitching the benefits of international mobility.
- Improving the access to information for young people about international mobility opportunities by guiding them.
To achieve these goals, the partnership will conduct focus groups with youth workers to develop a methodological framework and gather insights on their role in facilitating international mobility. An awareness-raising toolkit will be created, including guidelines, engaging visuals, and practical resources to support youth workers in promoting mobility opportunities. Additionally, two training courses will be organized to enhance youth workers’ communication and facilitation skills. Awareness-raising activities will be carried out across partner organizations, and an interactive digital tool will be developed to guide young people through the international mobility pathway.
