SVEA campaigns: “give me the urge to go to school”
OBESSU’s Swedish member organisation Sveriges elevråd (SVEA) launched the campaign “Give me the urge to go to school” to alert the world that schools today are not adapted to today’s society. We are a new generation that lives in the 21st century and doesn’t want the old school system. Our new society demands new knowlegde and skills gained through new educational methods. Help spreading the campaign by supporting it on !
SVEA stresses that today’s schools contain too many pointless and boring courses. Students do not have the impression that they learn valuable and relevant things. And when they ask why they should study a specific topic, the answer is too often “because it’s in the syllabus”. To learn things without knowing why or what the purpose is, is not motivating.
That’s why SVEA launched its campaign “ge mig lust att gå till skolan”, that will last throughout the year and will show up at activities, opinion articles, blog posts on engagerad.se which contains suggestions on how you can tranform your school, and more.
Help spreading the campaign by joining on ! Like the pictures that have already been posted, invite your student councils, friends, etc. to join too.
- 1. Type or write “Give me the urge to go to school” on a paper;
- 2. Take a picture of yourself when you hold up the paper (make it black and white);
- 3. Add the picture to the event’s wall;
The more we are the easier it will be for SVEA to convince its school minister Jan Björklund, regional principals of your school, local politicians in your municipalities and many more that change is needed NOW.
