OBESSU hereby has the pleasure to invite you to the Council of Members, Extraordinary General Assembly followed by the Training Course for International Officers which will all take place in Brussels, Belgium from the 7th – 13th December 2013!

The COMEM and the GA always have an important value since these are the meetings in which Member and Candidate organisations can assess together the work done and discuss how to improve the work of OBESSU. These are also occasions for OBESSU to shape its views, actions and plan according to the changes that educational systems face all over Europe as well as the new challenges the school student movement has to face.
During this year’s Extraordinary General Assembly (ExGA) one additional member of the Board and one additional member of the Monitoring Committee will be elected as the places were not filled during the General Assembly in Estonia in July 2013. For more information please see the Call for Board Members and Call for Monitoring Committee Members.
The COMEM and the ExGA will discuss and vote upon amendments (changes) to the OBESSU internal documents (Statutes, Political Platform, position papers, etc). Any proposals for resolutions and motions will be discussed as well. Therefore we invite all Member Organisations that wish to submit such amendments and/or resolution and motions to do it before Monday, 4th of November 2013 to ga@obessu.org. These must be sent in writing using the designated form. Any proposals arriving after this deadline will not be taken into consideration.

Training Course for International Officers

The Training Course for International Officers (TCIO) is an opportunity to all our Members and Candidate organisations to become acquainted with European level stakeholders and processes.
The Training Course will be held in Brussels and will gather around 50 school student activists, responsible for international relations from all OBESSU Member and Candidate organisations.
What does OBESSU do at European level? What do we stand for and why? How can I and my organisation get involved? The TCIO will be a chance to explore the main processes OBESSU is involved in at European level and create a connection with the work of our members and candidates. It will be a space for discussion and to develop OBESSU’s advocacy strategies, priorities, positions and policies.
Participation and Registration
The registration for the event has now been closed. The participants have been contacted with the practical information.
Costs
Travel costs will be reimbursed after the training. When your application is confirmed you will receive the reference price for flights, which is the maximum that will be reimbursed. We urge you to book you tickets as soon as you receive the confirmation.
The participation fee is €50. This is to be paid upon arrival in euros.

Timeline
- Thursday 10th October: Invitation to the COMEM, ExGA, and TCIO. Call for proposals and elected bodies sent out to MOs; Tuesday 29th October : Deadline for registration to COMEM, ExGA and TCIO; Monday 4rd November: deadline for proposals (amendments, policy papers, resolution from MOs, WGs). These must be sent in writing using the designated form to the GA email address;
- Friday 8th November: Received proposals and budget will be sent to MOs;
- Monday 18th November: Deadline for candidates to the Board and Monitoring Committee;
- Monday 25th November: Documents of the Board and MC candidates will be sent to MOs;
- Friday 29th November: 2nd deadline for amendments to the proposals;
- Tuesday 3rd December: Last COMEM and ExGA mailing.
