The Georgian School Student Unions’ Alliance very first General Assembly!
The Georgian School Student Unions’ Alliance (GSSUA) organized its very first General Assembly (GA) on 2nd -3rd of March, 2013. Around 36 representatives of school student councils and school youth clubs, from 8 regions attended the event, which was held at the #42 Public School Of Physics-Mathematics named after Academician Ilia Vekua.
The General Assembly was officially opened by the deputy Minister of Education and Sciences of Georgia, Mr. Aluda Goglichidze. Guests from different governmental and non-governmental institutions also held speeches at the official opening ceremony.
GSSUA was very happy to have OBESSU Board Member Dejan Bojanic present at the GA, and would like to give a big thank for organizing a workshop on the meaning and importance of General Assemblies and school students participation around Europe.
GSSUA believes that this event was one of its most important steps toward organizational development.
During the event participants had chance to express their school realities and reflect on ideas for projects which should be initiated by GSSUA for overcoming some of the challenges it faces.
One of the main outcomes of the General Assembly was that a new board was elected by the delegate school student representatives. They are

We congratulate them and wish productive work during the year.
On the second day participants reviewed the GSSUA Statues. In addition, a first draft version of the Action Plan of GSSUA was created with the 4 main priorities.
Those priorities are:
- Social inclusion of national ethnic minorities and school students with physical disabilities,
- Recognition and promotion of School Students’ Self-Governments (school students’ councils),
- Better co-operation with school staff, parents and other stakeholders during the school democratization process on a local level,
- Promoting monitoring and evaluation of school students’ activism as on local also on national level.
We are very excited to have hosted this amazing event and look forward to the productive work of the new board.
