The Training Course for International Officers 2015 is on the horizon!
One of the most appreciated OBESSU activities during the recent years was the Training Course for International Officers (TCIO) in 2013, during which many of our Member Organisations’ International Officers came to Brussels, Belgium to learn more about OBESSU and Europe, to discuss common challenges and to improve the work of OBESSU.
This year, a new TCIO will be held, also in Brussels. According to the OBESSU Workplan, “Participants will analyse the areas where cooperation between the national and European levels could be stronger, how it could be improved, in which areas cooperation is missing and where it is already strong, and how can they support one another.”
As usual when it comes to big OBESSU activities, the planning of the event is done by a prep-team, which this time consists of Ketie and Egzon from the Pool of Trainers, Giuseppina and Laufey from the Board, and Estel and Rasmus from the Secretariat. The team met in the OBESSU office on the 8th and 9th of August to shape the programme, divide responsibilities, discuss potential guest speakers and in general make sure that the event will be as successful as possible. Now after the meeting we can give you a few updates:
- We will have a visit to some of the European institutions;
- We will have an interactive discussion with policy-makers;
- Some of OBESSU’s partner organisations will be invited to discuss the cooperation with OBESSU;
- After the event, we will produce a small booklet with useful information on European decision-making structures which will be distributed throughout the network.

We hope that the event will be even more successful than the one in 2013 and we are looking forward to see a new group of motivated and interested participants in Brussels.
