UN chief to appoint Special Youth Representative
On the 25th of January, United Nations‘ Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presented the agenda of his second term during a General Assembly in New York. His 5-year innovative vision is called “The Future We Want” and includes the appointment of a Special Representative for Youth.
He declared: “We will deepen our youth focus and develop an action plan across the full range of UN programmes, including employment, entrepreneurship, political participation, human rights, education and reproductive health. And I will appoint a new Special Representative for youth to develop and implement our agenda and spearhead a UN youth volunteers programme.”
