OBESSU represents the school student interests at European level.
OBESSU defends school student rights, advocating towards European Institutions and other relevant stakeholders in the field of education.
Lifelong Learning Platform
The Lifelong Learning Platform is an umbrella that gathers 40 European organisations active in the field of education, training and youth.
As member of the platform, OBESSU is taken into consideration in every matter related to secondary education, making sure that the demands of school students are heard at EU level. OBESSU takes part in several events organised by the LLL Platform and it is also part of different Interest Groups on specific topics.
European Youth Forum
The European Youth Forum (YFJ) is the platform of youth organisations in Europe, gathering 100 youth organisations, both National Youth Councils and International Non-Governmental Youth Organisations.
OBESSU plays an active role in the development of the platform, representing the European school students in several YFJ's Working Groups.
In 2010 the Lifelong Learning Platform together with the European Youth Forum set up a stakeholders' coalition working on the Erasmus+ (EU programme 2013-2020 in the field of education and youth).
As part of the coalition, OBESSU advocates to have better conditions and have an impact in the negotiations of the upcoming EU programmes.
Advisory Committee on Vocational Training
Established to assist the Commission in implementing a common vocational training policy, the Advisory Committee on Vocational Training (ACVT) consists of three members per Member State, representing the interests of the national government, trade unions and employers' organisations respectively.
As an Observer Member of this platform, OBESSU is invited to take part in their activities, representing the voice of European school students.
European Apprentices Network
EAN was established in April 2017 by the European Youth Forum (YFJ) in partnership with OBESSU and with the support of the European Commission, to make sure that the voice of young apprentices is heard in discussions related to Vocational Education and Training.
Through EAN, young apprentices can have a say in decisions that may affect them and can advocate for more quality, inclusive and accessible apprenticeships.
European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training
EQAVET is a community of practice bringing together Member States, Social Partners and the European Commission to promote European collaboration in developing and improving quality assurance in VET by using the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework.
OBESSU is invided to their events and activities to speak for the European school students.
European Alliance for Apprenticeships
EAfA is a unique platform which brings together governments with other key stakeholders, like businesses, social partners, chambers, vocational education and training (VET) providers, regions, youth representatives or think tanks. The common goal is to strengthen the quality, supply and image of apprenticeships in Europe.
OBESSU represents the interests of European school students within the platform, taking part in high-level events and conferences.
European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training
CEDEFOP is an agency of the European Union and it supports development of European vocational education and training (VET) policies and contributes to their implementation.
As the representative platform of European school student organisations, OBESSU takes part in activities and events organised by the agency.
