OBESSU organises and runs European and global campaigns to raise awareness on different topics and to achieve the goals of the plarform.

On the 17th of November, students from all over the world united to commemorate the International Students' Day! OBESSU has a very long history in defending school student rights and bringing forward initiatives that commemorate the struggles of many people for a free quality education. The International Students’ Day is one of these occasions. Every year, OBESSU identifies a hot relevant topic for students all over the globe and through a Global Call for Action, OBESSU gathers several national and international student and civil society organisations to raise awareness on these topics.

100 Million Campaign- Justice for every child
Justice for every child is the Global Campaign launched by 100 Million in cooperation with multiple partners and youth activisits worldwide. The aim of the campaign is to call on the international community to provide immediate action for marginalised children and young people.

Education, we have a problem!

The campaign on social inclusion aimed at:
● Raising awareness of the issues linked to social inclusion in education and give them visibility on national and European level;
● Making national school student unions take action on national level;
● Involving experts and partner organisations with specific knowledge and interest in the topics;
● Giving concrete tools and solutions to tackle social exclusion in education.

Claim your Voice! Stand up for VET!

OBESSU’s campaign on Vocational Education and Training (VET) raised awareness of issues in and related to VET and VET student participation in Europe. The campaign was launched in May 2012 and ended officially at the end of 2013. During the two years the campaign has worked toward improving the image of VET in Europe, training school student activists to take stand and campaign for VET at the national level, met stakeholders and disseminated information about VET from the point of view of school students.

Light on the Rights Bus Tour

The idea behind the Light on the Rights Bus Tour project was to ask those who form the target group of education to have their say and commit themselves. In September 2010, a team of students of different nationalities embarked on a ten thousand kilometres bus trip to talk about school student rights and wider social issues. OBESSU arranged the tour to fulfill this mission and go through 15 countries in 45 days. The young travellers encouraged fellow students to be more interested in political issues that directly affect students and their rights, inspiring them to be more active in the democratic processes.
